OVERVIEW

The department of mechanical engineering was established in the year 2012 along with the inception of the institute itself. The pilot program was B. Tech. with an approved intake of 60 students. The department got another feather with the commencement of Diploma program in the year 2014. With a fully dedicated building for workshop and the other state-of-the –art laboratories the department boasts of an ambience of academic excellence, healthy competitive mind-set for self-development and along-with a pursuit for success and survival among the budding engineers.

OBJECTIVES

  • Teaching faculties with diverse backgrounds from Research, Academics and Industry and with high level educational institute alma maters (IITs, NITs, JU, IIEST & NITTTR etc.) inculcate resilient attitude of self-confidence among the students to work anywhere across the globe as efficient Team Members. All the technical assistants are industry experienced to pass on the effective skills to the students within and beyond the curriculum.
  • The department has all the laboratories to cater the need of the curriculum and organizes time to time hands on workshops, seminars and industrial visits to make the students acquainted with the cutting edge technology.
  • The department has a tradition of long sessions of faculty mentor-student informal interactions to make them sort out the problems in both academic and personal life and grow up as an efficient contributor to the society.
  • Though the department recommends the motto “Industry Job Experience is foremost after Degree” it encourages selected students aiming for higher education & research.

VISION

To emerge as a globally competent “Centre of Excellence” offering Technical Education and Research opportunities to develop self-reliant, knowledgeable, innovative and motivated professionals, capable of contributing towards the society.

MISSION

To achieve the long term vision the department will continuously strive to execute the following actions.

  • Supportive nurturement towards smooth transition from school level to professional level course and mind-set in both diploma and degree students
  • To help inculcate a strong attitude of discipline and self-confidence to tackle the broadness and multi-dimensionality of mechanical engineering subjects.
  • To develop a deep rooted keenness among the students to learn and respect the practical and professional skills throughout the career
  • To impart etiquette and ethics in on ambience of healthy competition so that the flag bearers can adapt to work in a professionally competitive global environment
  • To make students aware of the diverse options in the field of engineering and the pursuit of excellence in the various domains though perseverance

Message

Welcome to the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Techno International Batanagar, Kolkata. We started our journey in the year of 2012. We have grown our expertise and competence in the core Mechanical Engineering curriculum. We have a strong B.Tech, Diploma & vocational program in mechanical engineering. Our goal for students is to give them a high-quality engineering education that includes hands-on experience.

Each of our faculty members is ready and willing to work in their research specialty with capable students on individual projects. Mechanical Engineers are central to any successful economy with an ever increasing demand for higher level qualification particularly in India.

Mechanical Engineering envisages the development, design, manufacturing and maintenance of machinery. The present age demands Mechanical Engineering specialists who have the capacity of adaptability and creativity in the new technical areas. Mechanical Engineers should have knowledge not only in their own specialized fields but also in wide interdisciplinary fields.
